Solutions for my printer problems

A friend gave me a sample of the Fabrisign coated silk charmeuse from the Jacquard people in California. I have made 10 some prints now with my Epson 3880 and am %100 sold on this.  Not only does the coating, specially made for both dye-based and pigment inks, yield rich colors, dark blacks, and very strong lines and details, but there is no mess or unevenness of application that other coating procedures involve.

You do pay extra for these advantages, but I think it is well worth it. So easy…. Just one cut off the roll and it is ready for the printer.  It is made only in the 17″ width and larger so is made for these large printers.  Users with smaller printers would have to cut it down. And this is the same silk I have been buying from the Jacquard Silk Connection company.

Also they have a lot of fabrics with this coating and paper backing available, so there are many choices.

And best of all because it is attached to a moderately heavy paper, it goes through the printer like a dream! with NO SMUDGES.    As readers of previous posts will have noticed I had been having quite a bit of trouble with smudging. Seems to have been a result of the paper backing not being heavy enough.

I haven’t tried it yet, but the paper stickiness after you peel a print off seems like you could iron on other fabrics and reuse it.

Order it from here–you have to phone–
